Every Basebox building has a selection of additionally priced personalisation options to ‘make it yours’. Choose from our quality uPVC door and window options, paint colours, electrical packs and even the addition of fully installed foundations.
Foundations system
A level base is required for your Basebox installation.
Save the hassle of doing this yourself or using another contractor by opting for our foundations’ pack.
Our unique, tried and tested foundation system uses polymer crate system for an efficient and eco-friendly installation, ensuring your garden room is perfectly level. This will be laid prior to your building installation date.
Electrics Pack
Get connected by choosing one of our electrics packs to give your Basebox garden room power.
Pack 1:
2 surface mounted double sockets, 1 panel light, consumer unit, 1.5kW oil-filled standing radiator.
Pack 2:
4 surface mounted double sockets, 2 panel lights, consumer unit, 1.5kW oil-filled standing radiator.
Deck pack
Complete the look of your Basebox building with the addition of a 2-board, composite deck step added to the front of your garden room.
Both aesthetically pleasing and practical for smooth stepping in and out of your Basebox are deck pack is the perfect finishing addition to your garden room.
Paint pack
The exterior cladding of your Basebox needs to be painted using an outdoor paint within 6 months of installation.
Choose our paint pack to have your building pre-painted by us before installation from our three premium paint options; a modern black, smokey grey or chic sage green.
Floor pack
Move into your Basebox straight away by having your flooring installed by us.
Choose from our oak, grey or white laminate flooring to tailor your garden building to meet your exact design needs and preferred style choices.
How It’s Made
Our Walls
Crafted in-house using pioneering eco-friendly materials, the panel walls consist of a thick 9mm white MDF board with 75mm thick eco-polymer foam insulation.
The exterior cladding is a treated recycled composite made from sawdust from the milling industry, primed for resistance against rot and decay.
Flooring
The flooring is designed to prevent any potential dampness from rising by promoting air circulation. Additionally, the garden building subflooring sits above the ground level to further ensure this. The 80mm polyurethane insulation is supported by a 1mm powder-coated steel on both the top and bottom to keep the flooring protected against all-weather types.
Roofing
The garden building roofing is made with a thick 80mm insulated steel panel that is reinforced with a 1mm powder-coated steel.
For further structural integrity, the roof has an added 0.5mm galvanised steel sheet to reinforce the panel. The roof’s design is slightly sloped, enabling effective water runoff to the rear guttering system and down-pipe.
Glazing
The glazing is made with Pilkington K Optiwhite’ extra clear’ double-glazed windows and doors that are hard coated, low-e, argon-filled, and fitted with a Planitherm layer and Swisspacer. This advanced technology ensures exceptional insulation and energy efficiency.
Decking
Our premium graphite composite combines the natural aesthetics of wood with durable materials to create low-maintenance decking, perfect for your garden pod.
This ideal surface uses a unique blend of recycled wood fibres in addition to graphite and synthetic partials for a superior mix, resulting in durable and weather-resistant decking.
Guttering
The 4″ wide guttering further ensures the longevity of your garden pod by effectively managing excessive water flow, preserving the pod’s structure so you can enjoy it no matter the weather.
Basebox FAQs
Yes, the installation of the foundation is an optional add-on for Basebox structures.
Basebox garden pods are typically installed at your site within 1 to 2 days. If you opt for the foundations pack this will be installed prior to your buildings installation date.
Basebox garden pods offer excellent insulation to warm you in the coldest months. Additionally, if you opt for the electrics pack, you can have a free-standing oil-filled radiator for further thermal comfort.
No, residing in a garden pod is not permissible since it is not designed to meet building regulations for habitation. Such action would void your warranty with Green Retreats.
You’re typically not required to obtain planning permission for a Basebox garden pod since its height is under 2.5m, making it eligible for your permitted development rights. However, if you do find the need for planning permission, our friendly team is here to assist you through the process.
