Project Overview
Golf Simulator, A1
As a passionate golfer, Steven wanted a way to practice his game without being restricted by weather conditions or course availability. With a busy schedule, finding time to visit the golf course during the week was often challenging. He needed a convenient solution that would allow him to refine his skills at any time, especially when outdoor golf courses were closed due to bad weather or seasonal maintenance. To achieve this, he wanted to explore the possibility of having a golf simulator room at home. However, he didn’t have a spare room indoors, and the garage wasn’t suitable for installing a golf sim due to its height and lack of insulation; that’s where he looked at garden room golf simulators.

Designing the Ideal Home Golf Simulator Room
The Perfect Size For A Golf Simulator Room
Designing the perfect golf simulator room meant choosing just the right building from our garden room range. That’s why our pitched roof garden rooms, the A Range, are perfect for this exact use. Steven opted for the A1 for his golf simulator room as it provided plenty of overhead clearance for an unrestricted golf swing, creating the perfect space for his indoor golf simulator. The generous ceiling height ensured he could take full swings without worrying about obstructions, making practice sessions more effective.
As well as the height of the building, the length and width of the garden room were equally important factors to consider during the design process. For the golf simulator to work effectively in the garden room, there needed to be enough distance between the golf simulator screen and the back wall while still having plenty of room for the ball to travel. A properly spaced simulator setup is crucial for realistic gameplay and allows for accurate shot tracking. That’s why Steven chose a 4M x 5M apex garden room to facilitate this setup. Additionally, the dimensions allowed for a full-size impact screen and high-quality projector placement, optimising the immersive experience.

Year-Round Golf Simulator Room Use
One of the main reasons for Steven wanting a golf simulator room was the accessibility. With golf courses battling to maintain the green during frosty and wet conditions, the garden room golf simulator perfectly combats this issue.
However, there’s no point in having a golf simulator room if it’s not fully insulated for year-round use. Proper insulation helps maintain a comfortable indoor temperature and also protects the golf simulator equipment from potential damage caused by extreme temperatures or moisture. During Steven’s design consultation at our Buckinghamshire showroom, he had initially expressed interest in using a golf simulator shed but realised it wouldn’t be suitable during the colder months. Unlike traditional wooden sheds, which can be prone to drafts and poor temperature regulation, an insulated garden room provides a controlled environment that enhances both comfort and performance.
For further comfort, we recommended adding one of our premium LG air conditioning units to his building. This gave Steven complete control of the temperature within the garden room, ensuring that his golf simulator room was warm enough to use during winter months when outdoor golf courses were less accessible. In addition to heating, the air conditioning unit also provided cooling during the summer, preventing the room from becoming too hot and stuffy during warmer months. This all-season usability transformed the space into a versatile training hub, allowing Steven to practice in optimal conditions year-round.

Boosting the Golf Simulator Room Experience
To complete the setup, Steven added our high-quality acoustic pack to reduce sound reverberation inside the garden room. This would not only improve the experience for him but also minimise noise disturbance for nearby neighbours or family members. He also explored the option of installing smart LED lighting to create an ambient atmosphere, enhancing visibility and adding to the professional feel of his simulator room.
Ultimately, the combination of a spacious, well-insulated, and temperature-controlled garden room gave Steven the perfect environment to refine his golf skills without leaving home.

A Game Changing Golf Simulator Room
Steven’s decision to install a garden room golf simulator was a highly effective solution to his challenge of practicing golf year-round. The spacious, insulated, and temperature-controlled environment provided him with a comfortable and functional space to practice his game regardless of weather conditions or seasonal closures at outdoor courses. The room’s design, from the height clearance to the placement of the simulator, ensured that his practice sessions were not only effective but also enjoyable. The added features like air conditioning, acoustic panels, and LED lighting elevated the experience, making it both practical and immersive.
This investment in a garden room golf simulator has allowed Steven to maximise his time and practice efficiency, leading to more consistent and improved performance in his game. The combination of functionality, comfort, and convenience has made the garden room an invaluable asset to his golfing routine, proving that a well-designed, all-season training space can significantly enhance the practice experience.
