Green Retreats vs Other Garden Room Companies
What’s the difference between Green Retreats and other garden room companies?
Whether you’re planning a garden office, home gym or garden bar, a garden room is a smart way to add space, comfort and value.
But after some research, it can be hard to know who to trust. Not all garden room companies offer the same level of quality, and what is not included is not always clear.
This guide breaks it down simply, covering what to look for when comparing suppliers and how Green Retreats approaches design, construction and customer care so you can make a confident, informed choice.

Why Not All Garden Rooms Are the Same…
A garden room can look impressive in photos, but the real differences are in how it is built.
Construction, materials, insulation and installation all affect how well it performs over time. Some are designed for occasional use, while others are fully insulated for comfortable, year-round use (like ours!).
Understanding these differences helps you choose a garden room that works exactly as you expect.
| Feature | Green Retreats | Typical Garden Room Companies |
| Experience | Over 20 years specialising in garden rooms | Often newer companies |
| Buildings installed | 17,000+ across the UK | Varies widely |
| Installation teams | Experienced in-house teams | Often subcontracted installers |
| Insulation | Designed for comfortable year-round use | Some buildings are seasonal |
| Foundations | Installed as part of the project | Often arranged separately |
| Guarantee | 12-years (7 on B1 Lite and 20 on X1) | Avg. 10 years but the company is not old enough to back it up |
| Showrooms | Visit and explore buildings in person | Many operate online only |
While every company has its own approach, these differences can influence the reliability, performance and overall experience of owning a garden room.

A garden room might look similar on the outside, but the real difference is in how it’s built. At Green Retreats, every detail is carefully considered to deliver long-term comfort, durability and security.

Fast On-Site Installation Process
Something that isn’t often considered when choosing a garden room company is how long or disruptive the installation is on-site.
At Green Retreats we craft your garden room in sections at our Buckinghamshire factory, bespoke to your exact design. Our dedicated installation teams then assemble these sections on-site, with the entire building being watertight within 1 day, and complete within 5 days.
Many other garden room companies construct on-site which takes longer, creates more noise, requires more machinery and has a larger impact on your home life.
Our process is tried and tested for over 20 years, with our craftsmen still taking care with every detail of your build, whilst still respecting your home life for as minimal disruption as possible.

Trusted by Thousands of Customers
When choosing a company for a significant home improvement, many people look for reassurance from previous customers.
Over the past 20 years, Green Retreats has built a strong reputation through customer recommendations and great reviews.
We are rated 5 stars on Trustpilot with over 1,000 reviews.

| Proof Point | Green Retreats |
| Years building garden rooms | 20 |
| Buildings installed | 17,000+ |
| Customer feedback | 5-star Trustpilot reviews |
| Recommendations | 10% of new customers through recommendations! |
For many homeowners, this combination of experience and customer feedback gives them confidence when choosing who to work with.
Visit a Showroom and Experience the Quality First-Hand
Another way to feel confident in your decision is by visiting a garden room showroom.
Seeing a building in person allows you to properly understand the space, materials and overall build quality in a way that photos alone cannot show.
Some companies operate purely online, which can make it harder to fully understand the quality and specification before you buy. It’s also why there can sometimes be misconceptions around showrooms, but in reality, they are designed to help customers make more informed decisions by seeing and comparing buildings in person.
At Green Retreats, our Buckinghamshire showroom features over 20 garden room buildings across indoor and outdoor spaces, giving you the opportunity to explore different designs, compare layouts and finishes, and speak directly with experienced design advisors.
What You Can See at Our Showroom
- Explore completed garden room designs
- Compare layouts, materials and finishes
- See construction quality up close
- Get clear, expert advice
Visiting a showroom is not essential, but it can give you added confidence that the garden room you choose will meet your expectations.
