Halloween at Home

28th October 2020

Halloween at Home

Halloween this year is going to be very different than ever before. Whether you are used to having fun with the kids, or you are an adult-only household – celebrating Halloween this year isn’t going to be the social occasion it normally is. Looks like it’s Halloween at home for everyone in 2002.

Our customer’s know a thing or two about creating fun at home. Their garden room projects have kept us spellbound this year, with customers creating wacky and wonderful extra spaces at home to help them through the pandemic and beyond.

That’s how we’ve been inspired!

Our customer’s previous garden room projects have highlighted 4 great ways to have fun with Halloween at home this year!

4 garden room inspired ideas for having Halloween at Home

1. Garden Cinema > Scary Cinema

A classic!

You don’t need a garden cinema for this one. Simply prepare some spooky snacks and settle down on the sofa for a film fright night! We recommend having a blanket or pillows close to hand, just in case you need to hide from the terror on your screen.

Scary films are available in abundance this time of year – with a range of options available on terrestrial TV as well as your favourite streaming services such as Amazon Prime or Netflix. Opt for a classic, try something new or keep it PG with a family favourite.

Not a fan of scary movies? No shame in that! A blast from the past can still get you in the Halloween spirit. The Addams Family is a great nostalgic favourite in our opinion!

2. Garden Craft Room > Spooky Crafts

A Family Favourite!

Clear space, put down some protective sheets or table cloth and get messy!

Some great ideas are baking some creepy cookies, carving pumpkins, making treat bags, or getting stuck into some papercrafts. Getting creative together with the kids is a great way to bond and you get some decorations out of it too!

Check out these great ideas from Good Housekeep for easy crafting with kids this Halloween…

We love this customer’s garden craft room, designed specifically for craft projects with their kids – amazing!

No reason why an adult-only household couldn’t get creative here too! Pumpkin decorating has no age limit, so plan a date night that gets you both doing something different this Halloween. Plus you can make some very sophisticated alternatives to the traditional playful pumpkins characters, like some Mrs Hinch style white painted pumpkins.

3. Garden Bar > Make a creepy cocktail

One for the adults!

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year! Make the most of the weekend and start experimenting with some creepy cocktails! We wish we were enjoying a couple this weekend in our customer’s fabulous garden bar…

Take some time to research your favourites and try your hand at mixing a few different options. We love these Halloween cocktail ideas from Delish, including everything from the classic Bloody Mary to Black Magic Margaritas!

Cocktails are an easy-drinking treat so be sure to enjoy responsibly, you don’t want to feel like an actual zombie the following day!

4. Mancave > Games Night

This is a great and easy Halloween at home idea for the whole family.

The classics are an obvious choice for a little nostalgia; such as bobbing for apples, scavenger hunts and spooky charades.

Any games night can be given a Halloween twist with spooky snacks, prizes, costumes and music.

There’s no reason why the kids should have all the fun at Halloween!

Games Room

If you are lucky enough to have a man cave set up like this one (above) then making a Halloween themed evening for adults is easy! But a simple pack of cards can be all it takes to have a great games evening this Halloween.
