Insulated Summerhouse – Not Just for Summer!

Fully insulated summerhouse for year-round use

Summerhouses needn’t just be for summer

The damp, dark and dreariness of winter often keeps us confined to the house where it’s warm and cosy. When the warmer summer months come around it’s like our homes double in size, with the garden open to us again like a vast home extension! The garden quickly becomes our living room, dining room, kitchen, playroom and so much more.

But what if you could make use of your garden all-year-round?

insulated garden rooms

Our garden room buildings are fully insulated, with heating included as standard, for comfortable use all-year-round. With an insulated garden room building from Green Retreats, you can make the most of your garden and have an insulated summerhouse to use in any season!

Garden room buildings as your ideal insulated summerhouse

A garden room building is an outbuilding, much as a traditional summerhouse is – but that’s really where the similarities stop. A traditional summerhouse is very similar to a classic garden shed (thin walls, damp interior, traditional styling etc). By comparison, a garden room is a quality built structure that’s finished to the same high standards as a room in your house would be. To make the most of your garden in any weather, the extra investment into a fully insulated summerhouse garden room building from Green Retreats could make all the difference.

About our insulation

We’ve been designing and building quality garden rooms since 2005. In that time we have perfected our insulation for optimum performance.

insulated building components

Our wall sections are custom built in-house to offer an ingenious system of keeping the outside elements at bay and the internal environment comfortable. Our insulation has breathable membranes that control the flow of air and moisture that stop your building becoming stuffy or damp. We use premium double-glazing throughout with swisspacers and planiterm layers for superior thermal rentention. Our roofs and floors are exceptionally strong, using thick sandwiched foam insulation. Insulated summerhouses are great for summer too!

Quality insulation helps keep your building warm in winter and cool in summer.

The insulation also has a reflective layer to reflect excessive heat away from the building in summer whilst keeping any internal heat inside.

  • Modern and contemporary style
  • Quality materials

A garden room building typically costs more than a traditional summerhouse but offers much better value for money. Every garden room is maintenance-free, comes with a comprehensive 12-year guarantee and is designed for a 30-year life!

“Do I need planning permission for an insulated summer house building?”

More often than not, summer houses and garden rooms do not need planning permission because they fall within your permitted development rights as an ‘outbuilding’. This saves you time and money with your project!

If you do happen to need planning permission (because of the type of home you live in or the area you live in) then we can take care of the application for you, making the process as hassle free as possible.
