Job Summary

Market leader Green Retreats is looking to expand its in-house IT infrastructure and project support team, which is based on Westcott Venture Park, near to Aylesbury. You will be part of a small, highly motivated team, and your role will be interesting and varied.

We are based between Aylesbury and Bicester just off the A41 on Westcott Venture Park, therefore your own transport is essential.


Responsibilities and Duties

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in IT related matters, and enjoy working to a high standard, in a variety of technical areas.

You will be working closely with our existing 1st/2nd line support staff and end-users, reporting directly to the IT director.

You will be working with a wide range of technologies, ranging from maintaining an HTC Vive VR system, to configuring VLANs, administering VMware servers, building Linux servers and much more.

Excellent time management, and an ability to balance priorities are a must as you will be helping to manage incoming IT issues and assigning them as appropriate. Your role will include maintaining and improving communication across the business with regards to IT matters and supporting the team in achieving set goals.


Qualifications and Skills
Required Skills / Experience
  • Strong technical IT knowledge is required, and a keen interest and aptitude to learn about business IT, information systems and security is essential.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong TCP/IP networking experience, including implementation of VLANs, and management of switches and firewalls
  • Linux server installation and management (CentOS 7, LAMPS)
  • Windows 10 configuration and support
  • Administration of the following:
  • Managed network switches
  • NAS
  • Exchange 365
  • CCTV
  • Excellent organisation skills are a must as you will be required to work to deadlines and monitor the progression of projects.
  • Sound understanding and appreciation of how IT solutions can be used to complement business processes and enhance customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, confident and clear communicator who is comfortable delivering educational material to end users at all levels of the organisation.

Hours & Environment
  • This is a full-time, permanent position
  • Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (dependent upon skills and experience)
  • 40 Hours per week, 9-5pm Monday to Friday, half hour lunch break
  • 20 days paid holiday plus all statutory bank holidays. You will gain an additional 1 day holiday for every year worked at the company (maximum of 3 additional days)
