Do garden rooms need planning permission?
The great news is that garden rooms are designed to fall within your permitted development rights, and as such they very rarely need planning permission.
If for any reason your project does require planning permission, you can relax knowing that Green Retreats will take care of the application process on your behalf. Find out more in our planning permission page, or by visiting the garden rooms and outbuildings page on Planning portal. If you’re unsure if you need planning permission for your garden room project, get in touch with our friendly and knowledgeable team, or book your free design consultation today.
Do garden rooms add value to a property?
YES! They do! Like any extension, increasing the size of your home is only going to increase the value of your property.
Independent research shows that a garden room can boost the value of your home anywhere between 5% to 15%. For example, if your home is valued at £300,000, a garden room can increase this by a whopping £45,000! And with garden rooms starting from £11,732, you can turn your investment into a nice profit if you decide to move homes one day.
